Supervisor, Packaging and Labeling is directly responsible for supervising 2nd shift labeling and packaging operations of parenteral liquid drug products in our growing pharmaceutical environment. All activities must comply with cGMP’s and regulatory requirements. The position requires employee supervision to ensure that the manufacture of products comply not only with cGMP’s, SOP’s, and batch record instructions, but also that labor and material standards are met and that planned production occurs on time to meet the forecasted schedule. The individual must have the requisite technical skills to supervise both manual and automated processes in a pharmaceutical or FDA regulated environment and must have the ability to make informed decisions. The ability to communicate effectively within the entire organization is imperative.
- Supervision of all labeling and packaging activities; including maintaining work schedules, managing discipline, and effective employee relations.
- Staff training in departmental procedures, product inspection, and cGMP’s
- Enforcement of good safety practices in accordance with regulations; good departmental housekeeping
Qualifications and Skills
3-5 years work experience; pharmaceutical background helpful. Background in manufacturing and supervision is required. Computer proficient, with skills in managing Excel spreadsheets (or similar database). Proven record of problem solving, decision making skills and application of process improvement tools. Must have the ability to simultaneously multi-task across multiple capabilities and functions and handle many competing priorities and requirements, including performing site and functional responsibilities, responding to frequent e-mail and phone communications and attending multiple meetings. Must have the ability to work effectively under and manage to strict production, time and performance deadlines. Must be willing and able to work beyond the hours typically defined as a “regular” workday, which may or may not include weekends and holidays.
